of the Board of Trustees today, Treasurer Lynn Fitch was elected 2017-18 Board
Chair for the Public Employees’ Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS).

to have been elected to this position,” said Treasurer Fitch. “I
take this responsibility very seriously. The current and future retirees
of Mississippi deserve our very best efforts to keep their retirement savings
safe and strong.”

Board, will serve as this year’s Vice Chair.

the last fiscal year, PERS defined benefit plans served 399,757 members and
102,212 retirees and beneficiaries. It paid out $2.4 billion in
retirement benefits in Fiscal Year 2016.
